Artist Guga presents “Desorientat” at La Mercè, as part of the Circulem programme

Artist Guga will present his new creation Desorientat at La Mercè, as part of the CirCulem programme. The show will be performed on September 26th and 27th (12:20–13:00 · 16:40–17:20) at Parc dels Auditoris, at the Fòrum.

Desorientat is a physical theatre and visual comedy performance for all audiences. It tells the story of an overwhelmed executive who, after losing a vital piece of paper attached to a lamppost, sets off a succession of absurd and amusing events. Everyday life becomes an adventure, and tragedy turns into comedy.

CirCulem is a programme promoted by different organizations and professionals from the circus sector with the aim of supporting the development and presentation of a street circus piece. The initiative stems from a shared desire to activate public spaces through artistic practices and to strengthen the circus production sector in Catalonia, recognizing circus as a valuable tool for encouraging citizen participation, diversity and social cohesion.

The following organizations are involved: La Central del Circ (Barcelona), Festes de la Mercè – Arts de Carrer (Barcelona), La Palanca – Festival de Circ Contemporani (Esparreguera), L’Estruch – Fàbrica de Creació de les Arts en Viu (Sabadell), Fira Trapezi (Reus), Circpicat – Festival de Circ i Arts en Viu (Alpicat, Lleida), and Fira de Circ al Carrer de la Bisbal d’Empordà.

Guga (Gustavo Arruda de Carvalho) is a circus artist from São Paulo with an extensive international career. Specializing in various acrobatic disciplines, he has worked with companies such as Los Galindos, Circ Cric, Los Gingers and Circ d’Hivern de l’Ateneu de 9 Barris. He has also collaborated with European circuses and social circus projects with Pallassos Sense Fronteres. He is currently touring with Here we go! and taking part in collective projects such as Ambulant and Verde casi Negro.
