2026

On Thursday, 19 November, at 7 pm, La Central del Circ will host a new edition of P.L.A.T., featuring artist Clara Cortés, currently in residence at La Central del Circ as part of the Trànsits 2026 programme.

The artist will present a 20-to-30-minute excerpt from the creation process of SERÉ UNA MILF* (*Mother I’d Like to Ficcion), a contemporary circus training process based on one idea: creating a solo performance that can only be performed by pregnant circus artists. But before that becomes possible, Clara must train. The result is a tragicomic meta-performance about desire and obsession, combining trapeze, autofiction, text and live projections. The process of creating a performance becomes the performance itself.

“This is Clara, daughter of Anna, sister of Anna and Cristina. If she has a girl, she will name her Aurora.”

Clara Cortés holds degrees in Fine Arts (University of Barcelona – UB) and Circus and Performance (Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Tilburg, the Netherlands). She is interested in new formats, the use of digital tools and hybrid performance. Her artistic practice is interdisciplinary in nature. Her latest show, a finalist in CircusNext 2023, is HEDONIA, a contemporary circus performance combining new technologies, rap and video art.

P.L.A.T. (Free, Artistic and Transformative Practice)

P.L.A.T. (Free, Artistic and Transformative Practice) is an open space where companies and artists in residence at La Central del Circ have the opportunity to share, experiment with and test their creative processes, encouraging exchange and dialogue with both specialist and general audiences.

The aim is to create a space for freedom and innovation that allows audiences to discover the artist’s world through the proposal or format they choose to present.
