Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias, from Baró d’Evel

On Friday, December 19 at 11 am., at La Central del Circ, the dialogue table “Shifting the Risk” will take place with Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias, from the company Baró d’Evel, as part of the 3rd edition of the 360º Accompaniment Circuit of the Catalonia Circus Promotion Plan (2023–2026).

The dialogue tables are close and informal spaces for exchange, designed to share experiences, reflections, and knowledge on artistic matters. They are facilitated by artists and companies with established careers.

On this occasion, we are taking advantage of the presence of the company Baró d’Evel in Barcelona, currently performing Qui som at the Teatre Lliure, to invite them to take part in this program.

‘Shifting the Risk’

Building on their commitment to shifting risk—seeking a total and genuine form of art over technical prowess—we will talk with them about how they have developed an artistic identity that is both deeply their own and richly heterogeneous. We will explore their ability to bring together onstage artists who express themselves through circus, dance, theatre, music, or the visual arts, creating performances in which the boundaries between languages blur and where the power of the collective does not erase individuality.

About Baró d’Evel

Directed by Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias, Baró d’Evel works to break down boundaries between disciplines in pursuit of a total art—one that embraces risk, hybridity, and movement. Their creations combine movement, acrobatics, voice, music, material, and the encounter between human and animal on stage.

Practical information

The activity is aimed at emerging contemporary circus artists and is free of charge with prior registration. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis (maximum 20 participants).
