PSIRC at the Martí Pous Institute

In the 15th edition of EN RESiDÈNCiA at the Institutes of Barcelona, during the 2023/24 school year, artists Anna Pascual and Wanja Kahlert from the company PSIRC have carried out a creative process with the students of the Martí Pous Institute, with the mediation of La Central del Circ. They have created the piece ‘I am me, and you, world, who are you?’, which reflects on the logic of productivity and the world that awaits us in the future.

‘Jo soc jo, i tu, món, qui ets?’

The result of a process of getting to know each other and transmitting creative practices, this production will be shown only once at the Sala de Posada en Escena at La Central del Circ. The performers on stage are a group of teenagers from the Martí i Pous Institute, who over the course of a school year have allowed themselves to abandon productive and performance logics to delve into a process of discovering another way of moving, speaking, and assimilating the world around them.

From this new situation, they question, searching among the ruins of their childhood, what kind of world awaits them.

They ask what the stage is, if we strip it of what it represents, of what is not (capitalist) realism. What is it that cannot be captured by words, by logic, by dramatic action, by the myth of the circus?
