El pròxim 16 de gener, de 15h a 17h, a La Central del Circ, proposem la taula de diàleg ‘Circ Contemporani i públic infantil’, amb Quim Giron, d’Animal Religion’, en el marc de la 2a edició del Circuit d’Acompanyament 360º del Pla d’Impuls del Circ (2023-2026).

Quim Giron és un creador i artista de circ que ha explorat diferents formats i dispositius escènics. En dotze anys de trajectòria, ha creat 9 espectacles a més de realitzar diferents encàrrecs com ara Natal, que es pot veure durant la present edició del Festival de Nadal de Barcelona.

En aquesta taula de diàleg, ens centrarem en les seves peces adreçades a infants: …I les idees volen! (a partir de 2 anys) i Copiar (a partir de 8 anys), dos espectacles programats aquestes setmanes al Mercat de les Flors.

Quin ha estat l’impuls que l’ha portat a crear per a un públic tan jove? Què ha tingut en compte durant el procés de creació i com ha estat l’acollida d’aquestes propostes? I per què creu que no hi ha més propostes de circ contemporani adreçades a aquestes franges d’edat?

The Under Construction demonstrations are a very special moment of presentation by individual artists and companies that reveal a first phase of their personal research. The aim is that these artists can confront the first stage of their research with an accomplice audience.

After the demonstration, a conversation takes place between the artists and the audience in order to open up and stimulate observation of the work presented and reflection on the work itself. Under Construction takes place once every month and a half or every two months, on Thursday afternoons.

Trobada formativa ‘Sostenibilitat dels processos creatius’, dins el Programa de Transmissió de Coneixement i Professionalització, de la mesura ‘Circuit d’Acompanyament 360º’ (Pla d’Impuls del Circ 2023-2026), que La Central del Circ lidera juntament amb el Centre de les Arts del Circ Rogelio Rivel.

Meeting to share the new Strategic Plan for the center, designed in 2024 to review and update the project. In this context, modifications to various key programs and activities will be presented, including Trànsits 2025 residencies, showcase initiatives, and other essential projects.

The event is aimed at the users and artists of the La Central del Circ community.

Taula de diàleg ‘Transicions i evolucions artístiques’, amb la companyia Escarlata, en el marc de la 2a edició del Circuit d’Acompanyament 360º del Pla d’Impuls del Circ (2023-2026).

Les taules de diàleg del Circuit d’Acompanyament 360º són espais d’intercanvi informal d’experiències al voltant de qüestions artístiques, coneixements i qüestionaments, dinamitzades per artistes i companyies consolidades.

The 8th edition of the Week of Break and Transformation is here, taking place from February 10 to 14 at La Central del Circ. This week, La Central del Circ invites its users to take the reins of the facility and organize activities that inspire them: from courses to labs, debates, showcases, and more.

We will hold space to share visions, proposals and learn more about different aspects of the center and its operation.

Laboratori 1: LA TEORIA. L’escriptura del projecte. Del 24 al 28 de febrer de 2025 a La Central del Circ. Objectius: Definir conceptualment el projecte escènic, i formalitzar el projecte en un dossier de creació.

La mediació artística és un tema del qual sentim parlar constantment. De fet, a les artistes i companyies se’ls demana molt sovint proposar “activitats de mediació” en els projectes que presenten a subvencions o residències. Però què és exactament la mediació artística? En què consisteix i què engloba? I per què se’n parla cada cop més?

Abordarem aquestes qüestions en una jornada en tres blocs, en un recorregut per la teoria, les referències i la pràctica, amb Thomas Louvat, Lali Álvarez i la Companyia de circ “eia”.

How does a collective come into being? How does it grow and evolve? How is horizontality in relationships fostered within artistic work and the collective’s functioning? What makes collective stage creation unique?

We will discuss these and other questions with Alba Ramió i Güell, drawing from her experience with Ino Kollektiv, an international acrobatic balancing company currently working on its second creation.

Alba Ramió i Güell is a circus artist and artistic mediator. In addition to being part of Ino Kollektiv, she is the author of various artistic mediation, research, and creation projects, such as Paradoxa Circense (circus and academia), Improportes (improvisation and acrobatic balances), Tarot i Circ (associative cards), the pedagogical kit Les cures i el circ (circus pedagogy), and Cavitat f. (a solo stage piece in progress).

The European program Circusnext opens a new call for emerging contemporary circus artists who wish to participate in the 2026 edition. Its goal is to promote the development of new generations of innovative creative minds in the circus sector, encouraging them to experiment and question current artistic boundaries. This call is aimed at emerging artists who are currently developing their next circus creation.

Next Thursday, April 3rd, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at La Central del Circ, we invite you to the discussion table “Material as a Creative Engine”, featuring artist Vivian Friedrich. This event is part of the 2nd edition of the 360º Accompaniment Circuit within the Circus Promotion Plan (2023-2026).

Vivian Friedrich is a researcher and creator of performative circus. In 2022, she premiered Kristall Bohème at the Mercat de les Flors, a piece dedicated to her family’s glassblowing tradition. She has continued exploring movement and glassblowing in Sklenka Melta, a piece with four performers that has yet to be premiered.

How does research with a given material influence, transform, and expand circus movement? How does one move from material exploration to making it a stage partner or even the central element of creation?

Vivian Friedrich’s ongoing creative journey, merging movement and the art of glassblowing, will serve as a starting point for exploring the relationship between the body, circus, and materiality.

The discussion tables of the 360º Accompaniment Circuit are informal exchange spaces for sharing artistic experiences, knowledge, and inquiries, facilitated by established artists and companies.

This event is aimed at emerging contemporary circus artists based in Catalonia.

Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis (maximum 20 participants).

La 3a  trobada ‘El circ d’avui’, que tindrà lloc divendres 11 d’abril, de 16h a 19h, a La Central del Circ, és un espai de trobada per reflexionar sobre el paper de l’arxiu en el circ contemporani i la seva rellevància en un món saturat d’informació. Ens preguntarem quina memòria volem preservar i què és el que realment necessita ser arxivat per garantir que el patrimoni circense romangui viu i accessible.

La Central del Circ, gracias al apoyo del Fondo de Ayuda para las Artes Iberoamericanas IBERESCENA, abre una convocatoria con el objetivo de reforzar los intercambios existentes con América Latina y de proporcionar recursos y apoyo a proyectos de autores/as emergentes de creación de una pieza de circo contemporáneo.

The Cyr Wheel Meeting is a self-managed activity by the artists, centered around a specific artistic vision: pushing the Cyr wheel toward new artistic horizons through the development and evolution of each participant’s personal approach.

The laboratory ‘The Practice: Staging the Creative Process’ is the second of three research and creation labs taking place at La Central del Circ during 2025, as part of the 360º Accompaniment Circuit initiative within the 2nd Circus Impulse Plan (2023–2026), led by the Centre de les Arts del Circ Rogelio Rivel (CACRR) and La Central del Circ (LCC).

The aim of this lab is to share the creative process through collective feedback and to achieve coherence between the artistic dossier and the staging.

The lab involves artists selected through the Trànsits 2025 open call and students from the Centre de les Arts del Circ Rogelio Rivel.

The 4th meeting, ‘Circus Artists and Dissidences’, will take place on Wednesday, April 24 at 6 p.m. at the Konvent, Cal Rosal (Berguedà), as part of the Kontrast Festival. It will focus on gender and sexual diversity, aiming to give voice to women and dissident (LGBTIQ+) artists within the circus world. We propose an intergenerational dialogue space where the body is reclaimed as a political tool, and where the need for a gender perspective in constructing circus narratives is emphasized.
