Open call for the coordination position of the Circus Archive

La Central del Circ is opening a call to fill the coordination position for the project “Living Circus Archive”, which forms part of the Circus Promotion Plan of Catalonia (2023–2026).

The Circus Promotion Plan of Catalonia (2023–2026) is an initiative of the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia and the Association of Circus Professionals of Catalonia (APCC); a boost to the circus sector through 14 measures aimed at strengthening research, promoting creation and production, creating circuits, reinforcing national and international visibility and dissemination, structuring and regulating training, supporting sector-specific facilities, enhancing professionalization and specialization, disseminating and promoting circus within society, and developing projects related to sustainability and accessibility.

La Central del Circ is responsible for the measure “Living Circus Archive”, which specifically aims to strengthen circus research through the creation of a digital archive and the generation of spaces for reflection on circus. This project seeks to collect and organize Catalonia’s circus heritage to preserve its artistic value and make it accessible, provide a documentation space that offers broader access to existing materials, and promote a meeting and collaboration place for artists, creators, researchers, and the general public.

La Central del Circ is a space for creation, research, training, rehearsal, and ongoing education designed for professional circus artists, and it is part of the network of Creation Factories of the Barcelona City Council.
