La Central del Circ participates once again in the program ‘Cultura al barri’, part of Pla de Barris. This year, it presents the show Melic, by the company If Circus.

The performance will take place on Saturday, November 8th, at 1:00 PM, at Passatge Prim, 16, in the El Besòs i el Maresme neighborhood.

Melic is a community-format show about the collective and historical memory of weaving, the ancestral art that inspires the company, along with the recovery of the knowledge of their grandmothers. Through circus arts, If Circus proposes a dialogue between hand-woven ropes that transform, stretch and relax, are woven and unwoven. Ropes that support us, that cradle us.

About If Circus

Shalom Gramiccioli and Mar Olivé make up the project If Circus.

Shalom is a circus artist born in Rome, with a background in artistic gymnastics, which led her to discover aerial acrobatics. She studied professional circus at ACaPA (Netherlands) and has participated in shows such as Xinesa’s Series #4 and 13 Harbinger Road. Since January 2023, she has been part of the Melic – Weaving Memories project with If Circus.

Mar is a Catalan artist specializing in aerial rope, trained at the 9 Barris Circus School and ACaPA. She experiments with aerial structures, ropes, paper, and capillary suspension. She has performed at festivals in Catalonia and Europe. Besides doing circus arts, she writes poems, climbs, throws darts, and creates handcrafted objects such as recycled paper notebooks.
