Registrations open for the P.L.A.T on September 18 with Cia. Otra vez lunes

Shows
2025

On Thursday, September 25, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., a new edition of P.L.A.T will take place, led by the company Otra vez lunes, in residence at La Central del Circ as part of the Trànsits 2025 research and creation support program.

This proposal aims to be an immersive experience into the ongoing research and creation process of the project This Is Not a Love Song, a tragicomic biodrama by two trapeze partners who fight against their own broken hearts while keeping their humor intact. The piece is inspired by the popular culture they grew up with, which has shaped their conception and narrative of love: cumbia, guns, and Latin Kill Bill.

Otra vez lunes is an emerging contemporary circus company founded by Sofía Demicheli and Mariana Fernández, two performing artists specialized in aerial acrobatics, contortion, and dance, with over ten years of experience on the scene. They share affinities in their approaches and methods regarding scenic creation and fixed trapeze research. Both have worked in circus companies and national and international productions, as performers as well as creators. Drawing from their personal stories, the artists seek to satirically address political and emotional issues that affect us as individuals in today’s context, strongly influenced by the popular culture we grew up with.

Artistic team

P.L.A.T (Free, Artistic and Transformative Practice)

P.L.A.T is an open space where companies and artists in residence at La Central del Circ have the opportunity to share, experiment, and test their creative processes, encouraging exchange and dialogue with both specialized and general audiences.

The aim is to create a space of freedom and innovation that allows the public to approach the artist’s universe through whichever proposal or format is chosen, without the need to present a finished performance piece.

The activity is free, with prior registration, and includes a dish of food prepared by a neighborhood organization or one linked to La Central del Circ, reinforcing the connection with the local environment and promoting an inclusive and participatory space.

Capacity will depend on each artist’s proposal, with a maximum of 100 people. The idea is to hold the event every month or every two months, on Thursdays, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
