From the Living Circus Archive, one of the 15 measures of the second Circus Promotion Plan (2023-2026), an invitation is extended to participate in a series of meetings organized around themes that have shaped the history of Catalan circus, with the goal of involving the circus sector in crafting a collective narrative.

The first meeting, Circus, Margins, and Occupation, will take place at Espai Bolívia on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the aim of reconstructing the memory of stories that unfolded on the margins and in occupied spaces across our territory in relation to circus arts.

This meeting aims to create a narrative that captures first-hand experiences from those involved, which is essential to understanding this collective process. The goal is for this meeting to be the first in a series that will allow us to share and showcase the diversity of our circus heritage from the late 20th century to the present day.

If you are interested in participating in this collective effort to reconstruct these stories, please contact projectes@lacentraldelcirc.cat to confirm your attendance by November 20.

The Living Circus Archive aims to create a space for documentation and archiving to preserve and promote the heritage and artistic value of Catalan circus, as well as to connect new generations of artists with a lineage of local creators and their trajectories.
