Open call for the Artist Workshop with Lucha Emilia and Gregorio Torchia

Formation and Accompaniment
2026
Applications are now open for the upcoming Artist Workshop, Espectrari, led by Lucha Emilia and Gregorio Torchia.

The workshop, aimed at professional circus artists with a strong interest in creation and artistic experimentation, will take place from September 28 to October 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., at La Central del Circ.

This experimental laboratory proposes exploring the full range of the scenic spectrum—understood as a range of expressive qualities—of each participant, with the aim of enriching their artistic personality and stimulating their creative capacity.

Through physical, sensory, and energetic work, participants will investigate different ways of entering a state of play, strengthening scenic intuition, and fostering the (hyper)awareness of the performing artist in action. The workshop will delve into concepts such as the “playful self” and the “observing self,” instant composition, and collective and collaborative listening. Finally, it will focus on stage practice, error as a research tool, and shared reflection.

Lucha Emilia and Gregorio Torchia

Lucha Emilia (Emilia Gutiérrez) is a circus artist, clown, and buffoon performer. She trained primarily in France, studying at the Le Lido school and specializing in clown at CNAC. She has worked with companies and collectives such as Collettivo Terzo Livello, London Bitches, and Compagnie OFF, among others. In 2022, she premiered her first solo work, PAPY, and in 2026 she develops the cabaret La Concha de tu Madre. Her artistic research focuses on buffoonery, the deconstruction of character, and the intersection between poetry and provocation, creating spaces for reflection from a feminist perspective.

Gregorio Torchia is a circus artist trained between Italy, at the FLIC school, and France, where he studied clowning at CNAC. His artistic practice is characterized by an experimental approach based on play and collective work. He has been a member of Collettivo Terzo Livello and Sindicato de Clown, and has created shows such as CircOliva, as well as providing artistic mentorship for various contemporary circus projects.
