Iberoamerican Circus Creativity

With the aim of approaching and enhancing other circus realities, La Central del Circ has been working since 2014 in order to create and consolidate links with Latin America, where we find a large circus community and a large variety of festivals and circus schools, where some of the artists who use our equipment come from. Following this desire, and thanks to the support of the IBERESCENA program, since 2015, emerging companies from Latin America have been offered research and/or creative residencies at our facilities.

Despite its simplicity, this project called “Creació circense en clau iberoamericana”, has a very positive impact, both for the companies hosted and for the local community that discovers new aesthetics and can confront their vision of the circus and art in general with these new elements. Since the third edition, it has welcomed, for a period of two to four weeks, between two and three companies at a time. The aim is to expand their visions through meetings of exchange and mutual knowledge, where each company listens and is introduced to the artistic and cultural universe of the other.

This project is aimed exclusively at professional companies residing in IBERESCENA member countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay).
