On Wednesday, April 1, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, an online roundtable on circus dramaturgy will take place as part of P.O.N.T_CIRK. This initiative, led by the International Contemporary Circus Market (MICC), Fira Trapezi and La Central del Circ, aims to question, rethink, and strengthen the language of contemporary circus between Catalonia and Quebec, establishing a creative bridge between the two regions.

The event offers a space for exchange around dramaturgy in the circus arts, addressing aspects such as structuring an idea, developing themes, and building a coherent circus language within a creative process.

The roundtable will be facilitated by David Ayotte, a circus artist specializing in Chinese pole and artistic advisor, who has worked with companies such as Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Entre Nous, among others. Participants will also include Maxim Laurin, circus artist, stage director, and creator from Montreal; Shana Carroll, co-founder and artistic director of the company Les 7 Doigts de la Main; Ricard Soler Mallol, stage director and playwright born in Barcelona; and Joan Ramon Graell, circus artist and current coordinator and artistic director of La Central del Circ.

Produced by TOHU, the International Contemporary Circus Market (MICC) brings together professionals from around the world committed to the creation, planning, and promotion of contemporary circus tours. Beyond its annual meeting, the MICC network organizes activities throughout the year and plays a key role in the sector’s international development and projection.

This event is organized with the support of the Ministry of International Relations and the Francophonie (MRI), within the framework of the Quebec–Catalonia cooperation alliance.

The event is free, with prior resgistration, and will be conducted in English.
