On Thursday, June 12, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at La Central del Circ, we invite you to the dialogue table “Hybridizations: Circus Movement, Choreographic Movement” with artist Lali Ayguadé, as part of the 2nd edition of the 360º Support Circuit of the Circus Development Plan (2023–2026).
Dialogue tables are informal spaces for the exchange of experiences around artistic questions, knowledge, and inquiry, facilitated by established artists and companies.

Lali Ayguadé, after studying music from a young age, trained as a dancer at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and later at P.A.R.T.S in Brussels, directed by Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker.

As a performer, she has collaborated with renowned companies such as Akram Khan, Roberto Olivan, and La Veronal. Her path as a choreographer began in 2005 with a first solo piece, Twice Read.

In her role as a creator, Ayguadé has frequently worked in close collaboration with the circus world. Since 2007, she has created several small-format pieces with acrobat and clown Joan Ramon Graell, including Zitzània, premiered this spring at the Dansa Metropolitana festival in Barcelona. She has also taken part in joint projects with Joan Català and Julian Sicard, and collaborated in two productions by the company Baró d’Evel: Mazut and Bèsties.

“Hybridizations: Circus Movement, Choreographic Movement”

How do artists from other disciplines experience their immersion in a circus creation? What is the creative process like when different but related languages—such as circus and dance, where the body takes center stage—come together? From a stage perspective, what does it mean to bring choreographic and circus movement into dialogue?

Practical information

The activity is aimed at emerging contemporary circus artists and is free with prior registration. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis (maximum 20 participants).
