Resolution of the call for the position of Artistic Direction and Coordination of La Central del Circ 2025–2027

La Central del Circ announces the appointment of its new Artistic Director and Coordinator for the 2025–2027 term.

The selection process, which opened in May and closed on June 29, 2025, has now concluded.

Following the evaluation meeting held on July 22, 2025, the selection committee has chosen Joan Ramon Graell as the new Artistic Director and Coordinator for the 2025–2027 period, with the possibility of a two-year extension. His appointment reflects his extensive experience and deep, contextual understanding of the circus arts sector in Catalonia.

The selection committee was composed of:

• Anna Bosch, Manager of La Central del Circ

• Silvia Capell, Artist and user of La Central del Circ

• Adrià Montaña, Member of the Artistic Council of La Central del Circ

• Gina Segura, Board Member of the APCC

• Cristina Tascón, Manager of the APCC

Joan Ramon Graell will officially join the team at La Central del Circ on September 1, 2025.

Joan Ramon Graell, trained as an aerial porter, has taken part in shows such as Rodó and Homeland, and in renowned companies like Circ Cric, Circ Pistolet, and Akoreacro. Later, he developed as a stage director in collective creations such as Violeta, Invisibles, and Estat d’Emergència. He was also president of the APCC for five years and has participated in numerous social circus projects.
