The meeting point (working title), by Aurora Caja

From the 18 applications submitted to the circusnext 2026 call, the projects preselected in the national (Spain) scope are:

  • Tak-to, by Monika Wiktoria
  • Lutum, by Arrel Guevara
  • The meeting point (working title), by Aurora Caja
  • APS (amigas para siempre / overexcited pop autofiction), by KET o un hábitat propio

The Spanish selection committee was composed of Sandra Arisa, coordinator of the Centre for Movement Arts at Roca Umbert; Víctor Bobadilla, artistic coordinator at La Central del Circ; Antonia Kuzmanić, circus artist and artistic director of the company Room 100; and Elena Zanzu, circus artist and circusnext laureate in the 2019–2020 edition.

Participation in the Seeding Lab

As a new feature of the 2026 edition, three projects have been selected to take part in the Seeding Lab, a 10-day laboratory aimed at proposals that show promising elements but are still considered too early for the official selection process. This lab will bring together eight to nine artists from different countries and will be facilitated by an experienced artist.

The projects selected from Spain to participate in the Seeding Lab are:

  • Suspendida (working title), by Maria de la Parra
  • Teremín, by Javier Dieguez
  • Esta es mi confesión, by Luana Flores
