Open Call – Trànsits 2025 Residency Program, supported by the ‘Beques Barcelona Crea – Fàbriques de Creació’

Open call to participate in the residency program of La Central del Circ, Trànsits de la Creació 2025, aimed at circus artists, companies, and collectives.

This year, the call has incorporated several changes with the aim of strengthening support for circus research and creation. In collaboration with the Beques Barcelona Crea – Fàbriques de Creació (Barcelona Crea Grants – Art Factories), the lines of action have been expanded and restructured, including three grants that allow for greater depth in creative processes.

Among the most notable changes, a new Community Creation Transit modality has been added, offering a grant to foster interaction between artists and the local community, with the aim of promoting collective creation and consolidating cultural ties in the region. Additionally, the Research Transit modality has been enhanced with two grants aimed at projects in the research phase, providing space for artistic exploration without the pressure of immediate productivity.

These changes also include an extension of the residency weeks, allowing artists more time to develop their projects, more financial support and more guidance. This modification is part of a broader transformation process that also seeks to link with the Pla d’Impuls del Circ (2023-2026), with the aim of generating a sustainable and lasting impact on contemporary circus creation.

Through this residency program, La Central del Circ not only aims to support contemporary circus research and creation, conceiving them as practices and forms capable of contributing perspective and dialogue to contemporary debates, but also the intersection of disciplines and perspectives.
