From September 1st to 5th, the LEC (Collective Experimentation Laboratory) Remake will take place, led by the company La Supérette.

This laboratory is part of a long-term research project on visual play, initiated with the show Nous on n’a rien vu venir…, a creation by Thomas Martin and Edouard Peurichard that combines circus and digital arts. In this performance, live experimentation takes place using a green or blue screen and a television monitor, employing circus techniques to question—under an innocent appearance—the intrusive and often absurd presence of the digital world in our lives.

With Remake, the artists propose a week of immersion and experimentation using this same setup: chroma key backgrounds, live broadcasting, and intentional mismatches between what happens on stage and what appears on screen. The aim is to further develop the format, opening it up to new performers, new circus writing, and exploring ways of transmitting and reshaping this scenic language.

At the end of the residency, the lab will open to the public with a hybrid cabaret featuring short pieces created during the week. This showcase will be performed live and will be visible both on stage and on screen.

“Often, the results are fun, wild, or absurd. But beyond that, what truly interests us is seeing how each body, each gesture, and each situation invents its own image grammar. That is, in fact, the true heart of the project.”

Participant Profile

This call is primarily aimed at circus artist duos residing in Spain. However, individual artists are also welcome to apply, with the possibility of forming duos during the laboratory if creative affinities emerge.

Artists from any circus discipline may apply, as long as their proposals do not require rigging or anchoring points.

We are looking for artists who are curious about the intersections between disciplines, open to exploring hybrid territories, sensitive to visual language and the digital world, and who possess a playful and experimental spirit.

Call for Applications

To participate, please complete the registration form by June 21.

Participants will be selected by the company, which will choose between 8 and 12 people to take part in the laboratory.

It is a mandatory requirement to be available throughout the entire week that the laboratory takes place.

La Supérette

La Supérette is a circus and theatre company that creates shows which are light in form but deep in content. They propose hybrid, flexible formats designed to travel easily: their performances are quick to set up and take down, and can exist beyond conventional stages.

Their work adapts to spaces as if they were their own playground, while maintaining a strong sense of formal rigor and a distinct taste for visual “DIY,” cross-disciplinary blending, and disjointed narratives. Their creations move between circus, theatre, digital arts, and installation, aiming to develop unique, accessible, and slightly offbeat stage languages.

The show Nous on n’a rien vu venir… is part of Le Cirque Portatif, a project launched in 2023 that brings together several circus creations designed for non-traditional venues, such as community centers, museums, libraries, or small halls.

This project is supported by La Verrerie d’Alès, Pôle National Cirque Occitanie.
