La Central del Circ joins the manifesto promoted by the performing arts sector of Catalonia, aiming to denounce the genocide in Gaza. This initiative seeks to make visible the artistic community’s rejection of human rights violations and to express solidarity with the affected population.

In addition to reading the manifesto at various theatrical premieres and cultural venues, multiple protest and awareness actions have been organized to raise public consciousness about the critical situation in Gaza.

We share the manifesto below:

Performing Arts Manifesto to Denounce the Genocide in Gaza – September 18, 2025

Theatre is a space for peace, reflection, and communication, a place to come together and share emotions. But, among other things, performing arts are also a space to talk about what hurts, injustices, concerns, what should not happen but does.

We make our own the words of Almudena Ariza, correspondent journalist in Gaza, on the occasion of DanZa por GaZa:

“For months, Gaza has been experiencing a genocide that symbolizes destruction and shame, crystallizing in thousands of deaths. Children, women, and men stripped of their homes and their lives. A genocide carried out by the Israeli government with the complicity of many Western countries, which fills us with revulsion, rejection, and pain. Our solidarity is with the Palestinian people. From here, from this encounter with the audience, we open a space so that the genocide that Gaza has been suffering for months does not fall into oblivion, because Gaza affects all of us, even if it takes the lives of Gazans. We refuse to normalize the massacre and do not want to remain silent in the face of horror and barbarity.

They say that what is not spoken does not exist, and from our spaces we will continue to explain and denounce this genocide, because we feel sadness, helplessness, and shame to the point of pain, and nothing and no one will take away our silence, nor our will.”
