La Central del Circ participates in the EKO-PIRINEUS DE CIRC hackathon at La Grainerie

Last week, part of the team from La Central del Circ participated in the EKO-PIRINEUS DE CIRC hackathon at La Grainerie (France).

Three days of intensive interprofessional, cross-border, and European cooperation dedicated to the ecological transition of the circus sector.

The implementation of ecological experiments, as well as the creation of cross-border residency and programming routes, is already taking shape.

EKO is a cooperation project for 2024-2027, co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A Spain-France-Andorra program (POCTEFA 2021-2027). Its goal is to develop the capacities and skills of cross-border circus stakeholders to carry out the ecological transition by combining training, creation, and experimentation.

The project brings together 14 partners from across the cross-border area of France, Spain, and Andorra:

La Grainerie (project leader), APCC / La Central del Circ, Bilbao City Council, Huesca City Council, Consorci Transversal, Álava Provincial Council, Huesca Provincial Council, El Canal / Ajuntament de Salt, Ésacto Lido’Pro, Government of Aragón, Malandain Ballet Biarritz, Occitanie en Scène, Université Toulouse Jean Jaurès, and Ville d’Hendaye.
