2025

On Thursday, May 29th, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, a new edition of P.L.A.T will take place, led by the artist Arrel Guevara, currently in residence at La Central del Circ as part of the Trànsits 2025 program for research and creation support.

This proposal aims to offer an immersive experience into what has been—and continues to be—the research and creative process of the project “Lutum: Archives of a Fractured Anatomy.” Through static, dynamic, and/or performative installations, the audience will be able to observe—and even experience—the various trials and errors of the artistic research: from what has worked, what has inspired, what is still being tested, or what has been tucked away in a drawer. With this experiment, the artist invites us to delve into the depths of their body and identity, while simultaneously journeying through the hidden corners of La Central del Circ.

Arrel Guevara trained at the CAU School of Circus and Theatre in Granada, specializing in static trapeze. They have created and participated in various shows, both within the circus world and other disciplines, with notable performances such as La Ira, La cultura de l’odi, and No-conformes. Guevara works as a circus instructor and workshop leader at Aire Circ Viu School, La Volta, TuSí(K)Circ, CAC La Rogelio Rivel, Del Revés, and the Caixa d’Eines program, among others, while continuing training in other performing and circus arts. They are also part of the Aerial Creation and Research Laboratory led by Cata Aguayo and hold a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Barcelona.

P.L.A.T (Free, Artistic and Transformative Practice)

P.L.A.T (Free, Artistic and Transformative Practice) is an open space where resident artists and companies at La Central del Circ have the opportunity to share, experiment with, and test their creative processes, encouraging exchange and dialogue with both specialized and general audiences.

The goal is to create a space of freedom and innovation that allows the audience to enter the artist’s universe through any chosen format or proposal, without the need to present a finished stage piece.

The activity is free of charge, with prior registration required, and includes a dish of food prepared by a local organization or one connected to La Central del Circ, reinforcing ties with the local community and promoting an inclusive and participatory space.

Attendance capacity will vary depending on each artist’s proposal, with a maximum of 100 participants. The idea is for a new edition to take place monthly or bimonthly, on Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
