‘Decreixement i pràctica contemporània de circ’, a càrrec d’Antonia Kuzmanić (2023)

The Artist’s Workshop ‘Degrowth and Contemporary Circus Practice’, by Antonia Kuzmanić’ (from ROOM 100 company), aimed at professional circus artists, took place from 27 November to 1 December 2023, in La Central del Circ.

In this workshop we have reflected on circus practices inspired by degrowth at different scales and aspects. One of the main methods has been to think about the implications of more simplicity in all aspects of performing a circus, and to extend it beyond the implications of finding simpler ways to live with and from the circus as an artistic practice. This involves working with the material reality of the production, as well as with a creative staging that arises from the skills of each one.
