Circus Creation in march in Latin America

La Central del Circ has many artists coming from Latin America among its users and Catalan companies are exporting their spectacles more and more often to this continent. Roberto Magro has made several trips there in recent years, meeting with the heads of circus schools and centres and discovering a blossoming artistic community. It was time, then, that La Central established solid links with Latin American circus artists and professionals and the best way to do so was with what we know best: by accompanying circus spectacles.

CONVOCATORIA – CREACIÓN CIRCENSE EN CLAVE IBEROAMERICANA

3ª edition

Last January La Central del Circ opened the Call for Circus Creation in Ibero-American Key with the aim of support existing exchanges with Latin America and providing resources and support for a singular project to create a contemporary circus show. After reading the 64 applications submitted to the call, the selection committee has agreed to award these residences:

– Devir (Brasil)

–  Cia Mestiça (México-Brasil)

– Duo Petrikor (Colombia)

These projects will benefit from:

– 1 creation room for 2 weeks between September and October 2019.

– A grant for travel, residence and maintenance of a total of € 9,000 to be distributed among the three companies.
