CircusNextplus

Led by the French association Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe (JTCE), creator and coordinator of the series of CircusNext projects, this project is part of the framework of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. The partners are Jeunes Talents Cirque Europe (FR), La Grainerie (FR), Cirqueon (CZ), Latitude 50 (BE), Subtopia (SE) and La Central.

This program aims at developing the skills of emerging creators both as artistic directors and as project leaders, and those of cultural operators who provide support to emerging circus creators. The actions within the project are:

    • Joint staff workshops for the partners’ support staff: practices exchanges, development of a common knowledge, transmission by external experts.
    • Collective labs for the selected creators: collective explorations of artistic writings, mentoring and support.
    • Artistic team workshops: artistic research and project development as project leaders.
    • Evaluation and documentation of the project to share our journeys and the development of our practices.

The companies, selected from the open call on 2019, are Cie Scratch (BE), Collective Nº5 (CZ), La Barque Acide (FRa), Below Zero (SE) and Cia Som Noise (ES).

One of the focus of this project has been to identify the skills needed to develop an artistic project by both the participating emerging circus art teams and the management teams that accompany them. In July 2021 circusnextplus published a resume of this work developed throughout the project. You can consult the resulting report here.
